Daughter of Demeter and Zeus, snatched by Hades, given away by Zeus.

Ocean’s deep-breasted daughter

Persephone was playing with Ocean’s deep breasted daughter while she was snatched away

Gaia

Lore grown by Zeus to kidnap Persephone 

Nysian Plain

Plain opened once Persephone picks up the Gaia, Hades sprang out of the plain and snatched Persephone

Hekate

Only one who hears the cries of Persephone. Heard from her cave. Tells Demeter/Queen Deo she heard Persephone being taken.

Queen Deo

Alias for Demeter. Wandered the earth for nine days looking for Persephone.

Helios

Watches the gods and the mortals. Tells Demeter her daughter was taken by Hades and Zeus. Tells Demeter that Hades would not be a bad son-in-law.

Eleusis

Where Demeter sits after learning Zeus and Hades took her daughter. At Keleos’s house next to Maiden Well.

Kallidike, Kleisidike, Demo, Kallithoe

4 daughters of Keleos who speak to Demeter when she looks old. Mortals.

Doso

Disguise mortal name Demeter gives herself. Doso was given to pirates by her mother and then fled to Crete.

Metaneira

Mother of Keleos’s son, Demophon, and four daughters. Gives Doro a “boundless wage” to care for her son.

Iambe

Metaneira’s servant. Cheers up Doro while she is grieving 

Demophon

Metaneria’s son. Doro agrees to nurse him until he reaches a youthful age. Doro buries him in the fire at night so he grows like the gods.

Wraith of Demeter

After Demeter reveals herself to Metaneira, she demands the people of Eleusis build her a temple. She also demands that the sons of Eleusis wage war on one another every following year on that day.
