Scar tissue replaces liver cells
Hyperammonemia- disrupts CNS function, lead to multiple organ shutdown
Can be associated with Anemia
Insulin Resistance
Can lead to kidney failure (build up of waste products in the blood)
Blood Clotting ineffective

Protein metabolism waste product
Liver converts it to urea
Kidneys excrete urea
Remember that Chirrhosis can cause Hyperammonemia (which prevents the liver from converting ammonia to urea)
