8

What are the substance that absorb CO2 in the spirometer ? And why ?

Soda lime

Cuz : it’s used to absorb the CO2 we exhale and so that we can only measure the change in volume of oxygen in the chamber

New cards
9

What are the function of the counterpoise ?

To show the open / close of the chamber by the force of our breath

New cards
10

What happen to the chamber when we inhale ?

Chamber move down

New cards
11

What happen to the chamber when we exhale ?

The chamber move upwards

New cards

Why does the trace go down ?

Why does the trace go down ?

When we inhale, oxygen diffuse into our blood , which are replaced by CO2 which we exhale

CO2 is absorbed by soda lime so the volume of air inhaled the chamber decreases

Decrease in volume = volume of O2 absorbed
