Messy, dirty hair

Messy – frantic, usually talks with fast pace

Dirty – complicit in the ‘murder’ of Adam

Pale yellow hoodie

Pale yellow – Represents ignorance as Mark is the one telling Jan what is going on, and the anxiety which Jan experiences as they come to terms with the crisis in each ‘Street’ scene

Hoodie – Drawstrings that Jan pulls on as they freak out showing how anxious and uneasy they feel

Black muddy trousers and school shirt

Matching Mark, Lou and Brian – shows they are part of the gang and lower status

Mud – shows they have been messing about in the woods, bullying Adam – hinting at their complicity in what they think is his death

Brown boots with a bloodstain around the edges

Brown – Mud

Shows their responsibility in what happened to Adam and a reminder of the guilt they end up feeling as a result
