Anterior Rami
Of cervical, lumbar, sacral, spinal nerve merge to form complicated networks of nerves called : Nerve Plexuses
Muscles are served by 2 more different spinal nerves
Spiral Dura Matter
attaches to the tectorial membrane and posterior longitudinal ligament
the space between the spinal dura matter and the periosteum of the vertebral column is called epidural space
filled with lose connective and adipose tissue traversed by anterior and posterior internal vertebral plexus
Spinal Arachnoid Mater
Continuous w/ the brain lies close and between the dura mater and pia mater, forming a protective layer around the spinal cord.
It is a delicate, web-like structure that contains cerebrospinal fluid in the subarachnoid space, cushioning the spinal cord and providing nourishment.
between the arachnoid and the pia matter is the subarachnoid space extending at the consus meduallaris
Spinal Mia Mater
Continuous onto the cranial pia level of the foramen magnum
closely envelopes the spinal cord giving fibrous projection called filum terminale
