Unique in kaleidoscope of human relationships due to the differences in our likes and dislikes, histories of names, culture of our families and others.
Self-Esteem
Refers to a person’s overall sense of his or her value or worth. It can be considered a sort of measure of how much a person “values, approves of, appreciates, prizes, or likes him or herself” (Adler & Stewart, 2004)
Esteem
Comes from the Latin word aestimare, meaning to value.
Maslow Theory (Hierarchy of Needs)
We have five categories of needs: physiological, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization
Factors influencing Self-Esteem
Genetics, Personality, Life experiences, Age, Health, Thoughts, The reactions of others, social circumstances
Moral Law
The moral law "within me". It doesn't come from outside force.
It is the principle that is the basic human action so that it can be right and good.
It provides direction of a person's action to be responsible and relevant to others. (Immanuel Kant)
Eternal Law
Wisdom and mind of God directing human actions. This is the principle of rule, dominion, guidance and care of God.
Natural Law/Lex Naturals
A human part, as a rational being.
The human person has the ability to take care of not only his or her life but the rest of God's creation.
Human Law/Civil Law
Derived from Natural Law
Freedom
Inherent in human beings. It is the possibility that human is acting in accordance with his/her judgment and personal plan.
Freedom for Love
Is the ability to choose to act with kindness, compassion, and selflessness towards others, motivated by genuine care.
Freedom for Service
Is the ability to willingly dedicate oneself to helping others and contributing to the common good without coercion.
