606 BC
This is the date of the second exiling of Judah. Jehoiachin is taken to Babylon. This is significant as the line of David to Jesus comes through Jehoiachin. (Matthew 1:11)

The third exiling of Judah is when God - through Nebuchadnezzar - burns and destroys the Temple and tears down the walls of Jerusalem making them rubble.

Churches of Christ called by some: "The fastest growing church in America"
1950's
Bill Bright initiates Campus Crusade at UCLA
1951
Some progressive Churches of Christ - wanting to imitate the "success" of Campus Crusade and save their children who chose not to go to Christian Colleges - form an "experimental" effort for secular campuses called: Campus Advance. This was founded at the 14th Street Church of Christ in Gainesville, Florida. In 1973, the congregation moved to a new building and was renamed the Crossroads Church of Christ. In 1967, Chuck Lucas was chosen to initiate Campus Advance. Concepts such as small group evangelism ("Soul Talks"), "counting the cost" at baptism (total commitment), and a shepherding "buddy system" called "prayer partners" were innovations. The campus ministers and "women's counselors" raised-up there were sent into existing Mainline Churches of Christ, thus forming the "Crossroads Movement" also called the "Total Commitment Movement."
1967
Kip McKean is baptized at the 14th Street Church of Christ.
1972
Elena Garcia-Bengochea (McKean) is baptized at the Crossroads Church of Christ. 1976 Kip is the luckiest guy in the world as Elena marries him! They serve as the Campus Ministry Leaders for the Heritage Chapel Church of Christ and reach out to Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. Starting with seven students, 300 students are baptized in the next three years.
1973
1979
The Spirit sends the McKeans to the Lexington Church of Christ, which in time is renamed the Boston Church of Christ. Their first gathering with the Lexington Church of Christ on Friday, June 1, 1979 was "the 30 would-be-disciples in the Gempel's living room." The young men and women raised-up in this congregation to plant churches around the world become known as the Boston Movement. The major difference between "Crossroad congregations" and "Boston churches" was that in the Boston churches every member through the pulpit and discipling was called to "total commitment," while most of the adults in Crossroad churches remained lukewarm.
Chuck Lucas resigns from the ministry leaving the Crossroads Campus Ministries without any direction. By this year, Boston had planted Chicago, London, New York City and Toronto
1985
Over 2,000 "remnant" young people move to Boston and her plantings from the Crossroads Campus Ministries.
1985-88
About half of the "Crossroads Campus Ministry Churches" undergo "reconstruction" by the Boston Movement. Reconstruction is simply when every member of a congregation is called to be a disciple. Usually about half answer the call making the reconstructed congregations to be exactly the same "totally committed churches" as the Boston plantings. Interestingly in 1987, the Crossroads Church of Christ "disfellowshipped" the Boston Movement Churches because of the reconstruction, which they considered "unbiblical".
1987-90
World Sector Leaders are selected formally forming a Central Leadership for the Boston Movement. The Mainline Churches of Christ "disfellowshipped" the Boston Movement because of this new central government.
1988
1990
McKeans move to LA to encourage the young planting. It grows from 154 disciples to 10,000 disciples by 2001
1991
Moscow is planted by the McKeans and 850 are baptized the first year
The Boston Movement grows to 142 congregations in 53 nations. The Evangelization Proclamation is written, which pledges the movement to plant discipling churches in every nation with a city of at least 100,000 in population. The name "International Churches of Christ" is adopted by all Boston Movement Churches.
1994
2000
The Evangelization Proclamation is fulfilled - 392 churches in 171 nations.
2001
McKeans go on Sabbatical and never make another decision for the ICOC
The November Long Beach Unity Meeting formally sends the ICOC back to Mainline Theology. In fact, signaling this change in doctrine, most ICOC churches change their name to Church of Christ. For example: The "Denver International Church of Christ" changes its name to become the "Denver Church of Christ."
2002
In February, the "Kreite Letter" is the spark that decimates the ICOC. In April, the McKeans are formally fired for their convictions. In July, the Spirit carries them to Portland, Oregon to a congregation whose membership had fallen from 300 to 26.
2003
The Portland Church experiences a great revival unseen anywhere else in the world in what is left of the ICOC. The Portland ICOC becomes the fastest growing congregation in what is left of the ICOC. Scores of "remnant disciples" seeking spiritual revival flock to Portland from 26 different states. At the second Portland World Missions Jubilee in August, McKean "calls out the remnant." In September, a letter signed by 65 Evangelists and Elders shows the tremendous opposition and persecution in response to McKean's call. For the honor of God, the Portland ICOC Leadership pens "Our Concern for All The Churches." Then, a second ungodly letter signed by 85 Evangelists and Elders "disfellowships" the McKeans and all the disciples with them.
2005
With opposition to the McKeans helping Hilo, Hawaii under Kyle & Joan Bartholomew's leadership, in October - seeing "no remedy" - the brothers in Portland formally announced that God has initiated a new movement. The name of "International Christian Church" is adopted by all SoldOut Movement congregations
