Static Electricity
An imbalance of electrical charges within or on the surface of a material.
To make an electromagnet stronger:
Adding more turns of wire on the coil and using more current
What is current?
Current is the amount of charge (electrons) flowing per second.
Why do objects gain static electricity?
When you rub the balloon on the jumper some of the negatively charged electrons transfer to the balloon this means the jumper is left with an overall positive charge and the balloon now has a negative charge so they will attract. The balloon will stick to the jumper because it has gained electrons so it’s attracted to the positive charges in the jumper.
