The Devshirme System

It was a system used to staff the Ottomans military and their government. Through the system, Christian boys/men (8-20) who were subjects of the empire were forced to serve in the government.  It created a dedicated class of administrators of the newly conquered territories or soldiers.

A rebirth of art and learning, like the ultimate “glow-up” for human creativity  inspired by ancient Greek and Roman ideas. Artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael changed how people saw the world, painting realistic humans and exploring science through art.

The Renaissance gave Europeans confidence in human potential, the Reformation taught them to challenge authority, and powerful monarchs.
