Tropical Rain Forest
Rainfall exceeds 230 cm per year, temps hot year-round, 25-29 C, Soils are shallow and of poor quality
Tropical Deciduous Forest
Substantial rainfall 130-280 cm a year, temps hot averaging 25-39 C, Distinct dry season for 2-3 months
Temperate Rain Forest
Abundant rainfall, 200 cm a year, rarely drops below freezing and does not exceed 27 C
Temperate Deciduous Forest
Rainfall between 75 and 200cm, tamps below freezing not below -12 C
Temperate Coniferous Forest
Rain between 30-100, often snow, Temps very cold and below freezing for long periods
