Take AM, 8oz water, ambulate for 30 min

Prednisone

Acute RA aborts inflammation, infection, must taper or adrenal suppression

Methotrexate

Chronic RA by slowing joint degeneration, bone marrow suppression, infection

3-6 weeks to work, months for therapeutic effect, hydrate

Colchicine

Acute gout, severe diarrhea, bone marrow suppression

Take with food

Allopurinol

Chronic gout, rash

If IV dilute and administer 30-60 min

Sumatriptan

Vasoconstriction of cranial blood vessels, liver failure, cardiac angina avoid if heart disease

Not be used more than 2 days a week, Lie down dark and quiet place
