Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution (NAS)
Not the traditional SN type mechanism.
With a strong electron-withdrawing group (typically NO2), a nucleophile can be added and aromaticity will temporarily break.
NAS Leaving Group
To regenerate a aromatic system a negatively-charged group must be kicked out (not hydrogen).
A leaving group must be attached prior to NAS.

NAS SIze
The leaving group must be small enough to allow the nucleophile to attack.
