Calcium regulation: sun or UVB light gets converted into UVB - that turns into vitamin D2 - which turns into Vitamin D3 - creating dietary calcium which turns into blood calcium

Metabolic bone disease: No sun/UVB light which cannot give Vitamin D3 due to missing Vitamin D2 from UVB - cannot produce dietary calcium leading to decrease in blood ca;cium which stimulates the parathyroid gland leading to metabloizing calcium from bones in order to keep blood calcium up
