Constructive resistance
aims to construct new power relations or institutions. Building new alternatives instead of being strictly against something
Breaking resistance
aims to break power relations. The action is visible to those power relations and it is mostly collective
Avoidance resistance
avoid power relations. Can be collective and individual
Consequences of digital resistance
positive = freedom and mental health and negative = social exclusion and missing out on information
Motives for resistance
security fears, privacy concerns, negative past experiences or concerns about being hacked
Digital resisters
individuals who consciously do not use (certain) digital tools or services as an act of resistance
Technological refusal
a form of resistance where people intentionally reject or avoid certain technologies or digital systems
