Cerebrum
The largest part of the brain responsible for regulating senses, memory, emotions, intellectual activities, and body movement.
Thalamus
Part of the brain that connects to the cerebral cortex, sending, receiving, and organizing information.
Cerebral Cortex
The outer layer of the cerebrum responsible for processing information and divided into two hemispheres.
Midbrain
Located between the forebrain and hindbrain, responsible for motor movements, especially visual and auditory processing.
Hindbrain
The back region of the brain which includes the cerebellum, regulating balance, posture, and coordinating movement.
Emotional Intelligence
The ability to recognize and manage emotions in oneself and others, enabling effective reasoning and problem-solving.
Wellness/Well-being
A combination of health and happiness, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional health as well as social connections and purpose.
James-Lange theory
Suggests that emotions are experienced not directly from an event but through bodily responses triggered by that event.
Cannon-Bard theory
States that physiological arousal and emotional experience can occur simultaneously, but one does not cause the other.
Schachter-Singer theory
Posits that emotion is based on physiological arousal and cognitive appraisal of the situation.

The continuous process of finding meaning and purpose in life.
Occupational Wellness
An individual's ability to balance roles in life and attributes toward work.
Sources of Mental Health Problems
Factors like domestic violence, abuse, trauma, social isolation, and discrimination can contribute to mental health issues.
High Emotional Intelligence
The ability to handle difficult situations effectively and understand one's own and others' emotions.
Low Emotional Intelligence
Difficulty in noticing emotional cues such as the tone of anger in someone else's voice.
Ways to Improve Brain Function
Activities including exercise, meditation, proper sleep, and maintaining good relationships that enhance cognitive ability.
