The force of blood pushing against artery walls.
What do systolic and diastolic pressures measure?
Systolic is the greatest force exerted on arteries; diastolic is the least force.
What is considered normal blood pressure?
Less than 120/80 mmHg.
What is hypertension?
High blood pressure.
What equipment is used to measure blood pressure?
A sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope.
What is hypotension?
Low blood pressure.
