Not cells - genetic material in a layer of protein or fat. Entering cells to reproduce, causing them to burst and die.

Bacteria

Small, simple cells without a nucleus that can cause disease.

Fungi

Complex celled pathogen that can't photosynthesize, feeding off the host; some produce toxins.

Microbiome

The community of microbes living on and inside the body.

Infection

When pathogens enter the body and multiply.

Non-Infectious Disease

A disease caused by factors such as lifestyle, environment, or genetics.
