Nerve Cells

Tiny Structure that carries info. To and from your brain.

The organ that processes info.

Spinal Cord

Rope like bundle of nerves that run along your backbone. It's the main pathway for info. Traveling all over your body.

Skin

It covers your body in a protective layer. Protects you from harm & germs & keeps your body hydrated.

Bones

Organs that support & protect the body & stores minerals.

Joints

The place where two or more bones meet.

Ligaments

Connects the bones of a joint.

Cartilage

Cushions the ends of bones and form flexible parts such as the ears & the nose.

Muscles

Organs that contract to produce movement in the body.

Esophagus

A long tube that moves food from your mouth to your stomach.

Stomach

A muscular bag that mashes food into a liquid & mixes with stomach acid.

Small Intestine

Digests food & absorbs nutrients that your body needs.

Large Intestine

Soaks up water & minerals & leaves only the waste.

Liver

Makes bile that helps break fat into tiny droplets in order to break down fats easier.

Pancreas

Makes juices that are released into the small intestine.

Blood

Made up of a clear liquid called plasma & small structures called blood cells.

Red Blood Cells

Carries oxygen throughout your body.

White Blood Cells

Helps fight disease.

Platelets

Stops bleeding by forming clots.

Arteries

They are blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart to the other parts of the body.

Veins

Blood Vessels that bring blood back to the heart from the lungs & the body.

Capillary

They are tiny vessels with very thin walls that connect the arteries & veins.

Kidney

Organs that remove waste from the blood.

Bladder

Stores urine & releases it from the body.

Urethra

A small tube that takes urine from bladder to outside the body.

Reproduction

Making more organisms of the same kind (Offspring).

Inherited Traits

A characteristic that is passed from parents to offspring.

Seed

Contains the beginning of a young plant and a supply of food.
