Rktection for vulnerable witnesses. They hold defendants in police cells and transport them to and from courts

Providing evidence for the prosecution of offenders, charging offenders in line with CPS intructions

How does the police work with the HM Orion and probation service

Police will arrest prisoners who have been recalled to prison for breaching the terms of their license. As a result of Sarah’s law, the police also cooperate with the this organisation in managing the list of offenders living in the area

Refer victims and witnesses of crime to victim support. E.g women’s refugees

Responsible for holding prisoners attending court, pending their transfer/ transfer to prisons. They also arrange video recording for prisoners who are giving evidence form prisons
