Empirical Formula
The simplest whole-number ratio of atoms in a given molecule.
Molecular Formula
The exact number of each type of atom in a molecule.
Limiting Reactant
The reactant that is completely consumed in a chemical reaction, determining the maximum amount of product that can be formed.
Excess Reactant
Reactants that are not completely consumed in a chemical reaction.
Percent Yield
Actual yield divided by theoretical yield, multiplied by 100.
Stoichiometry
The calculation of the relative quantities of reactants and products in chemical reactions.
Theoretical Yield
The maximum amount of product that can be obtained from a given reaction.
Mass Percent Composition
The relative mass of an element in a compound expressed as a percentage.
