When was the PS formed?

27th Feb, from representatives of the workers, in the same building as the PG. Contained sod

What did the PS become?

Focus of working class aspirations, spoke for striking workers and rebellious troops

What were factories asked to do?

Elect delegates to attend a full meeting of the sovirt

What committee was chosen?

Executive committee, dominated by M’s and non-party socialist intellectuals

What did Order number 1 declare?

In military matters, the order of the provisional government were to be obeyed ‘only when they do not contradict the orders and decrees of the soviet’

How was ON1 important?

Gave soldiers representative and gave their committees control of all weapons

How did the Soviet impact the control of the PG?

Controlled communications such as postal services and railways in Petrograd so PG couldn’t do anything without support

What did the PG have to do?

Compromise with PS, no government power without army control
