Emergency Radiology
A medical specialty focused on diagnosing and treating emergencies through imaging.
Cerebral Infarction
A type of stroke caused by a blockage in the blood vessels supplying the brain.
Hyperacute Stage
The initial phase of cerebral infarction occurring within the first 6 hours, often undetectable on CT.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
An imaging technique that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of organs and tissues.
Anterior Cerebral Artery
An artery that supplies blood to the medial portions of the frontal lobe and superior medial parietal lobes.
Traumatic Intracranial Hemorrhage
Bleeding within the skull caused by trauma, which can include subdural and epidural hematomas.
Aortic Dissection
A serious condition involving a tear in the wall of the aorta that can lead to severe complications.
Acute Aortic Syndrome
A term for a group of conditions that cause chest pain due to issues with the aorta.
Supracondylar Fracture
A common fracture in children, typically occurring from falling on an extended elbow.
Pneumothorax
The presence of air in the pleural cavity, which can cause lung collapse.
Small Bowel Obstruction
A blockage in the small intestine, often due to adhesions or hernias.
Gallstone Ileus
A mechanical obstruction of the intestine caused by a gallstone.
Emphysematous Pyelonephritis
A severe kidney infection characterized by gas formation in the renal parenchyma, usually seen in uncontrolled diabetes.
Inattentional Blindness
A phenomenon where an individual fails to see unexpected objects in their visual field when focusing on a task.
Size of Liver
An important factor in diagnosing liver disease; assessed in imaging.
Cervical Spine Injury
Injuries affecting the cervical vertebrae, which can lead to significant neurological deficits.
Radiographic Findings
The appearance of structures in imaging studies that can indicate pathology.
