active verbs
dynamic verbs that show action action verbs add liveliness and place to a scene or a plot line. “ I crouched low, spread my arms and legs high and wrote and gritted my teeth”
tone
authors stance or attitude towards a subject; word choice can help us identify the tone of a text. tone shifts help demonstrate a change of attitude or change of place/plot
