(Wéi?) Hello?

喂，请问，常老师在吗？

(Wéi? qǐngwèn, Cháng lǎoshī zài ma?) Hello, (excuse me), is Teacher Chang there (/home)?

• 我就是。您是哪位？

(Wǒ jiùshì. Nín shì nǎ wèi?) This is she. Who is this, please? (/May I ask who's speaking?)

• 老师，您好。我是李友。

(Lǎoshī, nín hǎo. Wǒ shì Lǐ Yǒu.) Teacher, how are you? This is Li You.

• 李友，有事儿吗？

(Lǐ Yǒu, yǒu shìr ma?) Hi, Li You, what's going on? (/What is it?/Is something going on?)

• 老师，今天下午您有时间吗？我想问您几个问题。

(Lǎoshī, jīntiān xiàwǔ nín yǒu shíjiān ma? Wǒ xiǎng wèn nín jǐ gè wèntí.) Teacher, are you (polite) free this afternoon? (/do you have time to spare?) I'd like to ask you (polite) a few questions.

• 对不起，今天下午我要开会。

(Duìbùqǐ, jīntiān xiàwǔ wǒ yào kāihuì.) (I'm) Sorry, I have a meeting this afternoon. (I have to hold/attend a meeting).

• 明天呢？

(Míngtiān ne?) What about tomorrow?

• 明天上午我有两节课，下午三点要给二年级考试。

(Míngtiān shàngwǔ wǒ yǒu liǎng jié kè, xiàwǔ sān diǎn yào gěi èr niánjí kǎo shì.) Tomorrow morning, I have two classes, (and) at 3pm, I will (/have to) give a test to the 2nd year class.

• 您什么时候有空儿？

(Nín shénme shíhòu yǒu kòngr?) When will you be free?

• 明天四点以后才有空儿。

(Míngtiān sì diǎn yǐhòu cái yǒu kòngr.) I won't be free until after 4 o'clock tomorrow.

• 要是你方便，四点半我到您的办公室去，行吗？

(Yàoshi nǐ fāngbiàn, sì diǎn bàn wǒ dào nín de bàngōngshì qù, xíng ma?) If it's convenient for you, I'll go to your (polite) office at 4:30. Is that alright (does that work)?

• 四点半，没问题。我在办公室等你。

(Sì diǎn bàn, méi wèntí. Wǒ zài bàngōngshì děng nǐ.) Four thirty, no problem. I'll wait for you at the office.

• 谢谢你。

(Xièxiè nǐ.) Thank you.

• 别客气

(Bié kèqi) You're welcome (/don't mention it/no need to be polite)

Hello, is Xiao gou there?

對不起，小高不在，我是他姐姐。Duìbùqǐ, xiǎogāo bùzài, wǒ shì tā jiějiě.

I'm sorry, Xiao Gao is not here. I'm his sister.

Ni hao, 我是小王。 今天晚上有一個中國電影。 你們想去嗎？Ni hao, wǒ shì xiǎo wáng. Jīntiān wǎnshàng yǒu yīgè zhōngguó diànyǐng. Nǐmen xiǎng qù ma?

Ni hao, I am Xiao Wang. There is a Chinese movie tonight. Do you want to go?

我們很想去幾點？Wǒmen hěn xiǎng qù jǐ diǎn?

What time do we want to go?
