The Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
was established on May 18, 1994, through the passage of Republic
Act No. 7722, the Higher Education Act of 1992.

(Curriculum Description)
It was adopted and promulgated by the Commission on Higher Education in
accordance with RA 7722, in pursuance of the outcome-based quality assurance
system.
HEIs (Higher Education Institutions)
offering MT/MLS education may exercise
flexibility in their curricula, but MT/MLS courses as prescribed in the sample
program of study shall be implemented.

LICENSURE EXAMINATION
AND QUALIFICATIONS
Medical Technologist Licensure Examination (MTLE)
is conducted in order to identify graduates who possess the basic qualifications or the minimum conceptual
skills and technical competencies to perform the tasks with minimum errors.
Examination Schedule: Conducted twice a year (March & August)
Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
is the government agency, under the Office of the President of the Philippines, tasked to administer licensure
examinations to different professional.
Professional Regulatory Board (PRB)
PRB for Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science, under the PRC, is tasked to prepare and administer
the written licensure examinations for graduates qualified to take the examination.
1 Chairperson – a duly licensed Pathologist
2 Members – Registered Medical Technologists
Requirement: All must hold valid PRC licenses
