What happens when you rub a ballon on your head what electricity has you created
static electricity
what happens when two positivly charged objects are placed next to each other what happens
they will repel each other because the same charged objects do that and only opposite attract
what is electricity
Electricity is the presence and flow of electrons
what is electric charge produced from
charged particles, electrons can move
like charges
repel
opposite charges
attract
charged objects
one charged object and one not charged object attract
what happes when positive and negative charges are separated
they try and join back together
why is it hard to separate charges, what can be done to overcome this
they are attracted to one another, so you need to produce a force to deattach them
what is convention current in an electric circuit
it defins the direction of the eletric current as the direction of the positive charge
what is ment by the term complete circut
when there is a source of electrical energy, an unbroken pathway and at least one light bulb.
connecting wire
a straight line
light globe
a circle with a cross in it
battery
battery
switch
closed means the circut is on and open means the circut is off
voltmeter
circle with a v in it
anmeter
cirle with an a in it
resistor
rectangle
what do you have to do when drawing a circut
use a ruler and do it in pencil
what is voltege
voltage is the power of the electrons in the circut
how is voltage measured
through a voltmeter
where in a circut do charged particles usually have different amounts of energy
in a series circut the first bulb would have more volts then the second bulb
how is the energy added to the particles
though a battery pack
what does more pressure on a circut mean
the higher the voltage the more power it has on the circut, so the bulbs would be brighter
where does the voltmeter go in a circut
it goes parallel to the bulb
what is the units of current
amps, anmeter
what is the current meaning
current is the speed or rate at which electrons flow around a circuit
what is an electric circut
a path of electrical currents passing though many componats, and then looping back to the power source
what are 3 compounents of an electric circut
a power source like a battery, an unbroken pathway by having the switch closed and using wires to connect everything together, a converter of the electrical energy like a light bulb
what is an electric current created by where does it start and where does it move toward
an electrical current is created by a power source, like a bettery. it comes through the negative side and because opposites attract it moves towards the positive side and doing that is moves through the circut to light up the light bulb
what is ohms law
the eletric current flowing in a circuit is directly proportional to the voltage and inversely proportional to the resistance in that the circuit.
how to find voltage
current times resistance
how to find current
voltage divided by resistance
how to find resistance
voltage divided by current
how does electricity harm the body
it tences all the muscles in the body, you wouldn;t be able to let go
main safty devices that give protection from electriction
Residual current devices, rcd, fault circuit interrupters gfcl’s
what is a rcd
it monotrs the current in the house and it shuts of if the current is to fast
