Photoshop Document (.psd)
Default file format for Photoshop that retains all layers and editing options. Used for saving and exporting graphics.
Layers
Transparent sheets containing different parts of an image, such as images, text, and vector graphics. They can be rearranged and grouped.
Selections
Regions of an image selected to be affected by tools like paintbrush, copy, or crop. They apply to the current layer only.
Resolution
Refers to the number of pixels in an image. High resolution contains more detail, while low resolution has fewer details.
Image Size
Refers to the actual pixel dimensions (width x height) of an image. Image size and resolution are different concepts.
Color Mode
Refers to the color model used in the image. CMYK is for printing (cyan, magenta, yellow, black), and RGB is for digital screens (red, green, blue).

Options Bar
Bar located under the menu that displays tool-specific options when using different Photoshop tools.
Toolbar
Contains various tools for selection, cropping, retouching, adding shapes, and text in Photoshop
Canvas
The area where images are created or modified in Photoshop.
Launching Photoshop
Steps: Click Windows button → Search Adobe Photoshop → Open Photoshop → Create new file with resolution and DPI settings.
Open Existing PSD
Open an existing Photoshop document by selecting "File" → "New" → enter document attributes (size, resolution, background).
Saving your PSD
Steps: Click File → Save As PSD → Choose location and name the file.
