Linear Equation
An equation that describes a straight line and can be written in the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
Slope
The rate of change of a line in a graph, calculated as the rise over run.
Y-intercept
The value of y when x is 0 in a linear equation, indicating where the line crosses the y-axis.
Rate of Change
The ratio of the change in the output value to the change in the input value; in the context of a linear equation, it is the slope.
Table
A systematic arrangement of data, often used to display the relationship between variables.
Graph
A visual representation of data, showing relationships between variables, often using lines or bars.
Run
The horizontal change between two points on a line, typically associated with the x-coordinate.
Rise
The vertical change between two points on a line, typically associated with the y-coordinate.
Intercept
The point at which a line crosses an axis; can refer to x-intercept or y-intercept.
Data Set
A collection of data points that can be used to calculate linear equations or analyze trends.
