outcome

the value measured, observed, or reported for an individual instance of a probability trial

trial

a single attempt or realisation of a random phenomenon

event

a collection of outcomes - usually identified to attached probabilities

conditional probability

a probability that takes into account a given condition; a probability where the second event has a different probability depending on the outcome of the first event

P(B|A) = (P(A∩B)) / (P(A))

the formula for conditional probability - says the probability of B given A is equal to the probability of A and B occurring divided by the probability of A
