What is convection?
The movement of heat within liquids and gasses
What is the example of a use of kettle by convection
The flame heats up the particles at the bottom. They become less dense and rise. This pushes the colder particles to the bottom of the kettle, creating a convection current
How does radiation transfer heat?
Heat transfer by wave motion, which does not require any material and can occur in space.
What happens to the outside of a kettle when it heats? (radiation)
The kettle gives off heat on the outside through heat waves, which is why the kettle feels hot.
What type of heat transfer involves wave motion?
Radiation is the type of heat transfer that involves wave motion.
