What hormones does the Anterior Pituitary produce?
Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH), Luteinizing Hormone (LH), Adrenocorticotropic Hormone (ACTH), Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Growth Hormone (GH), Prolactin (PRL).
Where is the Pituitary Gland located?
It is located at the base of the brain, connected to the hypothalamus by the infundibulum.
What is the function of Oxytocin?
It is involved in childbirth and lactation, stimulating uterine contractions and milk ejection.
What hormone is produced by the Parathyroid Glands?
Parathyroid Hormone (PTH).
What is the primary function of Insulin produced by Beta Cells in the Pancreas?
To lower blood glucose levels by facilitating cellular uptake of glucose.
What does the Adrenal Medulla secrete?
Catecholamines, such as epinephrine and norepinephrine.
What are the main hormones produced by the Thyroid Gland?
T3 (Triiodothyronine), T4 (Thyroxine), and Calcitonin.
What hormones do the Ovaries produce?
Estrogen and Progesterone.
What is the function of Melatonin produced by the Pineal Gland?
Regulates sleep-wake cycles and circadian rhythms.
