splenius

A muscle located in the horse's neck and upper back region. It helps with lateral flexion and extension of the neck, as well as rotation.

trapezius

Muscle responsible for controlling movement and stabilizing the shoulder blade in horses. Located on the upper back, it connects the neck to the withers.

latissimus dorsi

Large, flat muscle on a horse's back and sides. It extends from the withers to the hindquarters. Primary function: adduction and extension of the forelimb.

brachiocephalicus

Muscle responsible for extending the head and neck in a horse. Located on the side of the neck, it originates from the shoulder blade and inserts on the back of the skull.

deltoid

Muscle located on the shoulder. It allows the horse to lift and extend its front leg, as well as flex and rotate the shoulder joint.

triceps

Muscle group located on the back of the upper arm. It is responsible for extending the elbow joint and assisting in shoulder movements.

Longissimus Dorsai

The Longissimus Dorsai is a muscle located along the horse's back. It runs from the withers to the croup and is responsible for back extension and lateral flexion.
