Network Interface Card (NIC)

MAC Address

Internet Protocol (IP) Address
A numerical label assigned to each device connected to a network that identifies its location.
Data Packets
Units of data transmitted over a network, which include a header with information about the sender and receiver.
Hub
A networking device that connects multiple devices in a LAN and broadcasts data packets to all connected devices.
Switch
An intelligent device that connects devices in a LAN and directs data packets only to the intended recipient.
Bridge
A device that connects two or more LANs using the same protocol to function as a single network.
Router
A device that routes data packets between different networks based on their IP addresses.
Wi-Fi
A technology that allows devices to communicate wirelessly over a network, typically covering larger distances than Bluetooth.
Bluetooth
A wireless technology for short-range communication between devices, usually less than 30 meters.
Cloud Storage
A service that allows data to be stored on remote servers accessed via the internet.
Local Area Network (LAN)
A private network within a single location, connecting multiple devices to share resources.
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)
A LAN that uses wireless communication, providing mobility and easier access but often with security and speed drawbacks.
