  • The future of Jerusalem - Both Israel and Palestine wanted to control Jerusalem and make it their capital. By the late 90s East Jerusalem was encircled by 150,000 Israeli settlements

  • Jewish territories in the occupied territories - They were still debates on whether the Israel troops and settlers should stay or leave the WB

  • An independent Palestine state - Many agreed there should be one in the WB

  • The Palestinian right to return - Israel would have to return land but many Israelis didn’t want to be the minority
