British got Florida from Spain, Atlantic to Mississippi. No more French and Spanish in North America. Friction w/ colonists: invincibility gone, refused to recognize rank above captain, enforced policies to raise revenue (Nav Acts, new taxes, choke chain, Proclamation of 1763)

Colonists wanted more credit and doubted the ability of Britain to protect families while they fought (questioned British sovereignty)

Pontiac's Rebellion
Misunderstanding. Natives thought Britain won't honor land rights. However, Britain wanted to improve relations to profit from fur trade; therefore, enacted Proclamation of 1763 (colonists saw control)
