Dissociation
The process by which an acid separates into ions in solution; strong acids have one-way reactions, while weak acids have reversible reactions.
pKa value
A measure of the acidity of an acid; lower pKa values (less than -1) indicate stronger acids.
Basic Salt
A salt that produces a pH greater than seven when dissolved in water, typically derived from a weak acid and a strong base.
Neutral Salt
A salt that does not affect the pH of a solution and typically comes from a strong acid and a strong base.
Neutral Ions
Conjugate bases of strong acids and also Akali Metals
Basic Ions
Conjugate bases of weak acids
