• reservoir: the place you’re gonna find that microbes exist | where the microbes naturally RESide

  • sometimes out in nature

  • sometimes in human body

• source: the agent that DELIVERS that pathogen to host

can reservoir & source be the same?

• they can be different OR the same

• EX: Antetanide Bacteria (causes Tetanus)

  • reservoir: soil

  • source: dirty needles

• EX: Syphilis

  • reservoir=genitalia

  • source=infected genitalia
