Italian: Theme 3- Current and future study and employment

Descrivi la tua scuola.

La mia scuola si trova a Ware, nel nord-est a Londra. La mia scuola è molto ben attrezzata, abbiamo molte aule tra cui laboratori scientifici e aule d’arte. Però non abbiamo abbastanza gabinetti per gli studenti e abbiamo molte regole circa uniforme e gioielli.

My school is situated in Ware, north west of London. My school is very well-equipped, we have lots of classrooms including science labs and art rooms. However, we do not have enough toilets for the students and we have lots of rules about uniforms and jewellery.

Quali materie studi?

A scuola studio inglese, matematica, scienze, geografia, italiano, educazione fisica e tecnologia alimentare. Ho scelto studiare queste materie per i miei esami GCSE.

At school I study english. maths, science, geography, italian, pe and food tech. I chose these subjects to study for my GCSE exams

Quali materie preferisci? Perché? 

A scuola preferisco la tecnologia alimentare e l’educazione fisica perché mi piace rimanere attivo e sono portata per queste materie. Inoltre, mi piace l’italiano volevo studiare una lingua diversa.

At school I prefer PE and food technology because I like to stay active and I am good at these subjects. Also I like Italian as I wanted to study a different language.        

Descrivi una giornata tipica a scuola.

In una tipica giornata scolastica, ho sei lezioni che durano quaranta minuti e  abbiamo una pausa di venti minuti e una pausa pranzo di un’ ora. Prendo l’autobus per andare a scuola e tornare.

In a typical school day, I do six lessons lasting 50 minutes and we have a 20 minute break and an hour lunch break. I take the bus to go to school and back

Quanti compiti hai fatto ieri ? 

Ieri ho fatto alcuni compiti, prima di cenare ho giocato a calcio così non ho abbastanza tempo per finire i compiti ma dopo cenare ho fatto i compiti di matematica e scienze e guardato la tivu per un po’.

Yesterday I did some homework, before dinner I played football so I didn't have enough time to finish it, but after dinner I did my math and science homework and watched TV for a while.

Preferisci il sistema scolastico inglese o italiano? Perché?

Preferisco il sistema scolastico italiano perché la giornata scolastica è più corta sebbene il sistema è abbastanza complicato. Però gli studenti in Inghilterra non vanno a scuola il sabato ma dobbiamo portare un’uniforme.

I prefer the Italian school system because the school day is shorter, although the system is quite complicated. However, students in England do not go to school on Saturdays but must wear a uniform.

Continuerai gli studi l’anno prossimo?

Dopo i miei esami, vorrei rimanere qui a Presdales perché mi piacerebbe continuare i miei studi. Inoltre l’anno prossimo spero di imparare a guidare siccome vorrei essere più indipendente. All'età di diciotto anni, ho intenzione di viaggiare del mondo perché voglio esplorare e incontrare persone. Voglio fare quello che voglio e mi divertirsi.

After my exams, I would like to stay at Presdales and I would like to continue my studies. Also next year I hope to learn and drive since  I would like to be more independent. At the age of 18, I intend to travel the world because I would like to explore and meet people. I want to do what I want and have fun

Dove lavorerai nel futuro?

Nel futuro non lo so dove voglio lavorare ma vorrei viaggiare del mondo. Mi piacerebbe probabilmente lavorare nel campo della moda sia nel campo culinario perche trovo  questi campi e abbastanza interessante. Lavorare nel campo dello sport anche sarebbe divertente perché ho sempre adorare giocare a sport.

In the future I don't know where I want to work but I would like to travel the world. I would probably like to work in the fashion field as well as in the culinary field because I find these fields quite interesting. Working in the sports field would also be fun because I have always loved playing sports.

1. Perché studi l’italiano? Continuerai nel futuro? 

Studio l’italiano perché vorrei abitare in Italia per l’anno perché è un bel paese. Inoltre, mi piacerebbe lavorare sia nel campo della moda sia nel campo culinario. Vorrei avere un lavoro ben pagato e mi piacerebbe viaggiare il mondo e incontrare molte persone allora imparare una lingua mi aiuterà.

I am studying Italian because I would like to live in Italy for the year because it is a beautiful country. Also, I would like to work in both fashion and culinary fields. I would like to have a well-paid job and I would like to travel the world and meet many people so learning a language will help me.
