define mutations
changes in the genetic code of a gene
what could happen when bacteria evolve (think abut antibiotics)
they become antibiotic resistant
when does bacteria develop mutations and how does it change the
it happens randomly in their DNA, hcanign the bacterias characteristics it can be less affected to some antibiotics.
what are the advantages for the bacterium when it becomes more antibiotic resistant
it is better bale to survive even in a host who is trying to get rid of the bacteria, it lives longer and can reproduce many more times.
how does this antibiotic resistance characteristic is passed on to offspring
the allele that has the characteristic will be passed on, making more population of the bacteria, having that antibiotic resistant characteristic.
how does this antibiotic resistance bad for humans
because you cant get rid of the bacteria or infections easily now, so doctors would have to prescribe with new antibiotics, but superbugs are resent to most known antibiotics and superbugs are getting more common. So it will be hard to treat.
