shoulder - AP external rotation
upright or supine, back flat against IR
abduct arm slightly , externally rotate and supinate hand until the humeral epicondyles are parallel to IR
shoulder - AP internal rotation
upright or supine, back flat against IR
abduct arm slightly, internally rotate and pronate hand until the humeral epicondyles are perpendicular to IR (posterior part of hand is against the thigh)
shoulder - scapular Y
upright or supine
rotate patient 45-60 degrees anterior oblique with affected side touching IR, to determine angle palpate scapular borders and align for a lat position
arm naturally relaxed to side
shoulder - posterior oblique grashey

rotate patient 35-45 degrees with affected side touching IR (body of scapula parallel to IR)
