HDL
“good” cholesterol - high density lipoprotein - tight package around cholesterol for transport in the blood. more easily processed by liver than LDL
LDL
“bad” cholesterol - low density lipoprotein - lose package around cholesterol - Can result in plaques on blood vessel walls. Not easily processed by liver, so stays in circulatory system longer
Food high in fats
oils, butter, lard, margine, fatty fish - salmon, nuts
