What is wide angle used for
Establishes location
Establishes emotions of loneliness
What is long angle used for
Shows location with emphasis on the subject
What is medium angle used for
Waist up, used to focus on what the subject is doing or saying
Helps viewer to feel close to the subject
What is cowboy shot used for
In between long and medium shot from the thigh up
Used in old cowboy movies to show the background, subject and gun on the hip
What is tight angle used for
Head and shoulder shot, used mainly for dialogue or detailed expression
Used for intense, intimate pieces telling the audience to pay attention

Extreme close up / emphasis on detail

Makes the subject appear larger
