Alliteration
words that are close together start with the same letter or sound. EX: She Sells Seashells.
Allusion
when you mention a person, event, place, or work of art in a short way without explaining it fully. EX: He was a real Romeo with the ladies |

when the same vowel sound is repeated in nearby words.
EX: The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain

the recurrence of stressed and unstressed sounds in poetry. depending on how sounds are arranged, the rhythm of a poem may be fast or slow, choppy or smooth.
simile
a figure of speech using “like” or “as”
stanza
a group of lines in a poem, often separated by a space.
symbol
an object, action, or event that represents something beyond its literal meaning.
theme
the central meaning or dominant message the poet is trying to deliver to the reader.
tone
the attitude of the narrator. could sound serious, humorous, etc..
