What are tribes?

Tribes are people who do not follow the rough social rules and rituals prescribed by the Brahmins. They are also not divided into wealth based or castes and follow their own rules, customs and traditions.

Where did the tribes usually live?

Forests, deserts and hills.

What did a tribe collectively own?

A tribe collectively owned pastures, cattle, land, forests, etc. They shared the yields amongst their household members equally.
