Titration
A technique used to determine the concentration of a solution by reacting it with a solution of known concentration.
Buret
A piece of lab equipment used for accurately dispensing variable volumes of liquid.
Erlenmeyer flask
A flask used for holding the solution being titrated.
Pipet
A piece of lab equipment used for accurately measuring fixed volumes of liquid.
0.10 mol/L HCl solution
A diluted hydrochloric acid solution used to titrate the NaOH solution.
Phenolphthalein
An indicator that changes color to signal the endpoint of a titration, specifically from pink to colorless in this experiment.
NaOH
The chemical formula for Sodium Hydroxide.
HCl
The chemical formula for Hydrochloric Acid.
Titration process
The process of carefully adding a titrant to a solution until the reaction is complete, usually indicated by a color change.
Endpoint of Titration
The point in the titration where the indicator changes color, signifying the completion of the reaction.
Molarity
Expressing concentration as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution (mol/L).
Mass/Volume Percentage
Expressing concentration as the mass of solute per volume of solution (m/V%).
