Any number that can be written as a fraction
Examples: 2/3, 7/8, 3/4, 6/7
Integers
All positive and negative whole numbers, and 0.
Examples: -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3
Whole Numbers
All positive integers and zero but no negative numbers
Examples: 0,1,2,3,4,5
Natural Numbers
All positive integers, excluding 0. Also known as the basic counting numbers!
Examples: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
Irrational Number
A real number that cannot be written as a simple fraction
Examples: Pi = 3.14159 or square root of 10.
