freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition. includes free excercise clause and establishment clause

2nd amendment

Right to keep and bear arms

3rd amendment

No quartering of Soldiers

4th amendment

Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures and sets out requirements for search warrants based on probable cause

5th amendment

right to grand jury, indictment, no double jeopardy, freedom from self-incrimination, due process of law.

6th amendment

guarantees a speedy trial, an impartial jury, that the accused can confront witnesses against them, and that the accused must be allowed to have a lawyer.

7th amendment

Right to a trial by jury in civil cases

8th amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Prohibits citizens of one state or foreign country from suing another state.

12th amendment

added the seperation of the president and vice president onto two different ballots

13th amendment

This amendment freed all slaves without compensation to the slaveowners. It legally forbade slavery in the United States.

14th amendment

This amendment declared that all persons born or naturalized in the United States were entitled equal rights regardless of their race, and that their rights were protected at both the state and national levels.

15th amendment

citizens cannot be denied the right to vote because of race, color , or precious condition of servitude

presidential succession, vice presidential vacancy, and presidential disability (if the president dies the vice-president steps up, and the vice-president elects someone from congress to take the place of vice-president and then needs to be voted on by congress, and so on down the line)

lowered the voting age to 18
