Function of respiratory system
To exchange 0xygen and Carbon Dioxide
To get oxygen in the bloodstream
Cell needs oxygen to carry out cellular respiration
How is it linked to Circulatory system
oxygen is breathed into lungs from the air.
Inside lungs oxygen dissolved into blood
Through capillaries… then into heart
Co2 from blood dissolves into lungs
Co2 is exhaled out of lungs

Trachea
Right and Left bronchi
Bronchioles
Alveoli
Alveoli
Air sacs at end of bronchioles
There are capillaries here to exchange 02 and co2
Lung diseases
Bronchitis= Bronchi get swollen and clogged with mucous
Emphysema= Loss of elasticity of lungs (cant get enough 02 or get rid of c02)
Asthma= inflammation of bronchi
