Linear Function
Straight line. F(x)=x. Points: (0,0) (1,1) (2,2) ect
Quadratic function
Parabola. F(x)=x². Points: (0,0) (1,1) (2,4)
Cubic function
Half a parabola on each side of x axis. F(x)=x³. Points: (0,0) (1,1) (-1,-1)
Sin function
Swiggly line that goes through (0,0). F(x)=sin(x). Points: (0,0) (pie over 2, 1) (pie, 0)
Cosine function
Swiggly line that doesn’t go through (0,0). F(x)=cos(x). Points: (0,1) (pie, -1)
Absolute value function
V. F(x)= absolute value of x. Points: (0,0) (1,1) (2,2)
Square root function
Arrow to right that starts at (0,0). F(x)=square root of x. Points: (0,0) (1,1) (4,2)
Reciprocal function
Two curvy lines that don’t touch 0. F(x)= 1/x. Points: (1,-1) (1,1)
Exponential function
Curvy arrow up that doesn’t go below 0. F(x)=e^x. Points: (0,1)
Logarithmic Function
Goes down on y axis and arrow to the right. F(x)=Log(x). Points: (1,0) (10,1)
Greatest Integer function
Steps. F(x)=int(x). Points: all integers some points not included then included in the next step up
Natural Log function
Looks like other log, goes along y axis then up and right. F(x)=Ln(x). Points: (0,1) no other whole numbers
