define terminal velocity
when the resultant force is 0, meaning the object is travelling at its maximum constant speed.
what happens when a person is falling in the air
air resistance is greater than the weight
after a while the air resistance will be equal to the weight, this means the resultant force is 0
The person would be at terminal velocity, it would be falling at the maximum constant speed.
what happens if the person falling had a parachute on
because since the parachute has a large surface area, the air resistance will increase making the terminal velocity be lower.
